SPI to Conduct Skills Assessment of the UK’s Digital Content Creator Sector

OlsbergSPI (SPI) has been commissioned by ScreenSkills and the BBC to conduct a skills study for the Digital Content Creator (DCC) sector across the UK’s Nations and Regions.

The study examines:

  • The skills required to create digital content, identifying where these skills overlap with film and television sector skills

  • The alignment of existing training and education provision with the skills needs of DCCs

  • Critical skills gaps within the DCC sector, and what broadcasters, production companies, streamers and video sharing platforms can do to help fill such gaps

  • Career pathways for DCCs, including opportunities and barriers.

The study will also include key recommendations to inform future interventions and actions to address and support the findings.
