Upcoming SPI Webinar: Understanding Screen Production Capacity
Olsberg•SPI (SPI) is pleased to announce the next edition of the Beyond the Screen by SPI webinar series. This episode, titled “Understanding Screen Production Capacity”, will share insights for screen agencies, governments and industry stakeholders on managing screen production capacity in an increasingly competitive global market.
As production activity expands internationally, many jurisdictions are facing growing pressure to ensure that workforce, infrastructure, vendors and wider industry capacity keep pace with demand. Understanding where the strengths and constraints exist across the production ecosystem is increasingly important for informed decision-making, sustainable growth and long-term competitiveness.
Drawing on SPI's Production Infrastructure and Capacity Analysis (PICA) service, the webinar will explore how screen agencies and governments can assess production capacity across workforce, infrastructure, services and supply chains, and use this evidence to support strategic planning and investment decisions.
The session will be grounded in SPI’s recent PICA study for Screen Australia, which examined capacity across Australia’s screen production sector, including physical production, post, digital and visual effects (PDV) & animation and digital games. While the study reaffirmed Australia’s position as a world-class and globally trusted production hub, it also highlighted a range of workforce, infrastructure and ecosystem challenges that are increasingly relevant to screen sectors worldwide. These challenged include ensuring sufficient skilled crew and talent pipelines, supporting business scalability, planning for infrastructure demand, and building the capacity needed to sustain long-term growth.
The session will be hosted by SPI Consultant Kayleigh Hughes and feature Screen Australia’s Chief Operating Officer Grainne Brunsdon.
