Review of the Latin American and the Caribbean Audiovisual Sector

Client: Inter-American Development Bank (IDB)

Location: Latin America and the Caribbean

This study assessed the state of the audiovisual sector in Latin America and the Caribbean in the context of increased production demand resulting from the growth of interest from streamers and more investment in some national industries in the region.

The study drew from over 100 interviews with emerging creators, producers, entertainment executives, government officials and film association professionals. Supporting these interviews, SPI designed, executed and analysed an online survey of producers on the current and future skill gaps and demands for the audiovisual industry across Latin America and the Caribbean. The survey captured the views of over 400 producers from across 22 countries.
