This 2016 impact evaluation, commission by the Irish Government, measured the economic value of the Irish Screen Sectors – including Film, TV, Animation, and Games - and detailed strategic plan for future growth.

SPI’s research, with support from Nordicity, into these two separate but complementary elements built on 90 separate consultations, a deep evaluation of over 180 data sources, analysis of Irish government statistics, and fresh data collected through surveys.

The report found that the Irish Screen Sectors generated €1.05 billion in gross value added (GVA) in 2016 and supported employment of 16,930 full-time equivalents (FTE), of which 10,560 was direct employment.
