SPI to Conduct an Economic Impact Analysis of the South African Film Incentives
Olsberg•SPI (SPI) has been commissioned by the Independent Producers Organisation (IPO) to assess the holistic impact of the South African Film and Television Production Incentives offered to domestic and international producers in South Africa.
The Study includes an Economic Impact Assessment (EIA) of the South African Film and Television Production Incentive, the South African Black Filmmakers Incentive, and the Foreign Film and Television Production and Post-Production Incentive, as well as a review of the operations and processes of the incentive programmes in the context of international industry standards of practice. More information on the programmes here.
The study will also include high-level strategic recommendations for the further development of South Africa’s incentives for domestic and international production.
The IPO represents, protects, and promotes the interests of independent South African film, television, and digital media producers and, in turn, all who work in and are suppliers to the industry value chain in South Africa. More information on the IPO found here.
