Screen Australia has partnered with Olsberg•SPI (SPI), an international screen sector strategy consultancy, to undertake an independent and in-depth Production Infrastructure Capacity Analysis (PICA) of the current screen production sector in Australia. This covers production, post-production, digital, VFX, animation, and digital games sectors. This analysis covers the sector's current strengths, weaknesses, constraints and capacity gaps, as well as opportunities for future growth.
An important part of the PICA study is the targeted industry surveys. These will provide valuable data on the current screen production capacity in Australia, across workforce and infrastructure, and what is required to grow current capacity.
There are three surveys being conducted, which are linked here:
Production – for those working in production across film, television, streaming/video on demand and/or online/direct to audience
PDV and/or Animation – for those working across post-production, digital, VFX and/or animation
Digital Games – for those working in digital games.
If you have worked professionally in the screen production, post-production, digital, VFX, animation and/or digital games sectors in Australia in the last three years, we would like to hear from you.
Please respond to whichever survey(s) reflects the work you undertake in Australia.
Each survey will take around 15-20 minutes. The surveys will remain open until Friday 8th August 2025.
Please forward this page or the survey link(s) to any other relevant industry professionals in your network.
If you have any questions regarding the survey, please contact Kiera Obi at SPI on kiera@o-spi.com
