SPI to Complete New Production Infrastructure and Capacity Analysis (PICA) in Australia

OlsbergSPI (SPI) partners with Screen Australia to undertake a Production Infrastructure and Capacity Analysis (PICA) of Australia’s Screen workforce.

The study will see SPI completing a comprehensive evaluation of the below-the-line workforce, infrastructure and services in Australia’s screen production sector, which includes film, television, documentary, animation, post-production, VFX, digital games and online.

The study aims to create a comprehensive dataset and evidence base on the current capacity and provision of Australia’s screen production sector. The results will support the development of new and existing initiatives to enable the sustained growth of the sector in the future.

This new study follows a PICA study completed by SPI for Ausfilm in 2021. Since the study’s conclusion, a number of interventions have been implemented to support capacity development in Australia, including the creation of the Workforce Capacity Working Group, made up of representatives from Screen Australia, Ausfilm, NIDA, AFTRS, the Office of the Arts and the state and territory film offices.

Please contact SPI Consultant, Kayleigh Hughes at kayleigh@o-spi.com for further information on the study.
