SPI and Association of Film Commissioners International Announce Updated Global Study on Screen Sector Development

OlsbergSPI (SPI), in partnership with the Association of Film Commissioners International (AFCI), are set to update and expand their Best Practice in Screen Sector Development study.

Originally launched in 2019 at AFCI’s 43rd Cineposium conference, the study was a first-of-its-kind analysis of the strategies, policies, and other interventions used by governments around the world to maximise their share of the screen production market.

The updated study will feature expanded analysis, insights and case studies into the screen sector’s evolving landscape. It will investigate a wide range of strategies employed by governments, legislators, and industry stakeholders to foster screen sector growth in both established and emerging markets. It will also expand on the scope of the initial study to account for the changes in the global screen sector over the past five years.

In addition, the new study will analyse current best practices in diversity, equity and inclusion strategies, screen production sustainability, and stakeholder engagement. Extensive case studies will be included to illustrate best practice findings, while the study will consider both formal and informal best practice approaches.
