For this new client, Olsberg•SPI is undertaking a research assignment into the current implementation of the European Audio Visual Media Services Directive in a selection of European countries and regions.

Jonathan Olsberg was a keynote speaker at the 2010 SPAA annual conference, where the key findings contained in SPI's forthcoming report on building sustainable film businesses were discussed. The session addressed strategies for creating successful, international film businesses in a rapidly changing digital world.

As part of the Nordic Film Prize 2010, Jonathan Olsberg on behalf of AGICOA, a not for profit membership organisation that collects retransmission royalties, delivered and moderated a session on how producers/rights holders could build sustainable content businesses.

In early 2010, SPI was commissioned by UK Film Council to produce a report that would assist the UK Film Council Board in its deliberations on a possible new paradigm for building UK-based film companies of scale (where film production is a major element of the business model).
