Olsberg|SPI wrote a much discussed report for UK producers’ body PACT, spelling out ways that independent producers could build sustainable businesses.The proposals suggest a future in which producers can use public funds in a more entrepreneurial way, with greater control of their own IP and the potential to reinvest revenues from successful films in creating growth. The company, with a major film agency, is undertaking an extensive review of how far the international public policy environment helps build industry sustainability through the emergence of film companies of scale. We are looking at countries as diverse as Brazil and Canada to South Korea and Sweden and speaking to many public bodies and leading producers across the world on this issue. Our research shows that there are very few dedicated national initiatives to help seed and build company growth.
UK facilities study
The team produced a report in 2010 about the facilities sector in the UK and its sizeable contribution to the UK’s wider film and television industry. Chile - Study on the Development of Chile's Offshoring Sector
Olsberg|SPI examined the current conditions in Chile's screen sector and provided recommendations on how it could be more successful in attracting incoming productions.
Sweden - Study and Recommendations on a New National Film Policy
Olsberg|SPI analysed the Swedish national film sector and devised a series of recommendations for how a new series of policy initiatives could re-invigorate the sector, from production through all delivery systems and formats of distribution.
Screen Australia Enterprise Programme

Olsberg study on UK film costs
Olsberg|SPI carried out extensive research for the Office of the British Film Commissioner comparing the cost of production in the UK with established and low-cost competition. It concluded that the UK offers real value for money. For more click here.
